Privacy policy

Subz helps volleyball players find subs for their games. This page explains what information the app keeps, who can see it, and how to delete it. In short: we only collect what’s needed to match players with games, we never sell it, and you can delete your account anytime.

What we collect

  • From Google when you sign in: your name, email address, and profile photo. We never see your Google password.
  • What you add to your profile: skill level, positions, formats, years playing, gender (optional), part of town, bio, leagues and teams, and the times you’re usually free or away.
  • Contact details: your email and, if you add one, your mobile number.
  • Activity in the app: sub requests you post, games you’re invited to or join, your favorites, and your notifications.
  • Notification settings: which ways you want to be contacted, and if you turn on push notifications, a technical address your browser provides for delivering them.

How we use it

  • To show your profile to other players so they can ask you to sub.
  • To suggest players who fit a game’s level, gender needs, and time.
  • To send sub requests, replies, and game-day reminders by the methods you choose.

We don’t sell your information, show ads, or use it for anything unrelated to finding subs.

Who can see what

  • Other signed-in players can see your name, photo, profile details, leagues, and availability.
  • Your email is private. Other players never see them; the app uses them only to send you notifications.
  • Your favorites are private. Nobody can see who has favorited them.
  • Private sub requests are only visible to the person who posted them, their teammates, and the players they ask. Requests posted to Open games are visible to all signed-in players.

Services we rely on

These companies process data on our behalf, only to run the app:

  • Google for sign-in
  • Supabase to store app data
  • Vercel to host the website
  • Resend to send emails, if you turn email on
  • Your phone or browser’s push service (such as Apple or Google) to deliver push notifications, if you turn them on

Your choices

  • Edit your profile or turn email and push notifications on or off anytime from your profile.
  • Turn off “open to being asked to sub” to stop appearing in searches.
  • Delete your account from the bottom of your profile page. This permanently removes your profile and everything linked to it, including sub requests you posted.

Kids

Subz is meant for adult league players and isn’t intended for anyone under 18.
